There is a fair amount of wear on this book in the cover is torn and taped. There are brown spots on pages throughout the book

This book was signed by DuBose Heyward, I believe he also signed his wife's name Dorothy to the book as well.

I believe this was intended to be a gift for a member of his family. you will not find any others signed Dorothy and Dubose together.

The inscription reads: "for Aunt Ell with love from Dorothy and DuBose Heyward"
